The Friends of Pytchley Court supported the work of the home. Situated within the village location of Brixworth Northamptonshire, Pytchley Court Care Home is a purpose built 40 bedded care home offering Dementia, Nursing, Residential and End of Life care.
The Friends aimed to improve the quality of life of the residents of the care home by working with staff, residents and relatives.
The Friends of Pytchley Court were looking to develop services on the site. We found that this was particularly valued by some residents who through deteriorating health did not have the confidence to come out of their rooms. Alongside this we supported the care homes’ activities’ coordinators by providing extra pairs of hands during organised activity sessions and outings.
Visit of Duke of York
On Tuesday 11th October 2016, the Duke of York visited Attends offices to be updated on our work.
As part of his role, he is patron of each of the friends groups in care homes.
Pictured here, he is talking to Nichole, project manager, and Kahlil who is newly appointed to the team. He was delighted to hear of the progress to date.
Pytchley Christmas Fayre
The Friends were delighted to be at Pytchley Court on Sunday 6th December.
The event was a combination of the official re-opening after the homes refurbishment and the annual Christmas Fayre.
There was a fantastic atmosphere with residents, staff and relatives all taking part.
Judy, the Activity Co-ordinator’s, marvellous cake stall sold out quickly. However there was still plenty to choose from at the varied craft stalls. Lewis the home manager helped keep things jolly with the wine tasting.
It was great community celebration. Thank you for inviting us.
